The joy of recycling.....

This week I'm working on a series of notebooks using reycled paper and/or used packaging to submit to a store at the end of the month. It's fun and also a bit tricky as it must be creative but not too DIY. I'm starting with perfume packaging and I thought you might like to see what I came up with until now.

white jacket and tiny colored pearls for Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria. I'll have to go back to El corte Inglès and beg for other samples I'm missing, to have the complete series (rose, grapefruit etc..)

summery Moorish feel for L'Air du temps

your ideas and suggestions are welcome !!
what do you do with your perfume packaging ?

Lala que imaginacion tan linda tienes.
It is so cute and unique. And that's one of the advantages of recycling for artistic purposes, whatever the result, it will never look the same as other pieces. Many thanks for your fantastic images and your boundless imagination.

Greetings from London.

These are beautiful, Lala! So fresh and spring-like. I save my soap boxes because they are just too pretty to throw away...and chocolate boxes too. As a matter of fact - I think I save any kind of packaging that is pretty! I think you will have much success with these!

Lala , how do you get such photos onto your posts? Mine are always reduced in size and lose their clarity.
Now I have got over the shock of this last weekend I shall probably resume posting tomorrow--thankyou for your support!
Lala, your designing talent blows me away.

L'aire du Temps is perfectly perfect to my eyes! Elegantly simple but beautiful.

Aqua Allegoria is richly extravagant and gorgeous. One thing I would do, though, is add some of the red berries to the side panels as well.

Most packaging gets tossed in the trash but if I bought perfume with your designs I think I might frame them and hang them on the wall!

Hi Lala,

I like the colors-red and lemon. Very original idea with the little elegant accessories. Very creative.

I also thank you about your reply to my email. I hope things will be stable in Madagascar in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately my loved perfume has very row box style - it's DKNY "Be delicious". So I throw boxes away.
I like Your designes, You inspire me...
P.S.
Do You have redcurrant already?! I'm so jealous! ;)

just stumbled on your blog the other day and what an inspiration!
i really love the simplicity and freshness of your style. simple without being boring and colorful without being jarring or over the top. perfect harmony.
the colorful beading really brings the package design to life. it has a folk-art feel to it now. you've inspired me to transform my Nina Ricci Deci Dela boxes into art!

Lala,

You are so creative. The work you have done with the boxes are beautiful
I love how you find beauty in everything! I don't ever come up with these creative ideas. Funny I had to check if any of them is still in its package. Nope I threw them away...
I use Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. It would've been fun to come up with different ways on how to make the package look pretty! It would be a lovely gift box :-)

Re black vase/bottle - thank you!
It's so pretty I would love to get some of those...

The covers are beautiful.
I wear Terre by Hermés and just throw the box away. A bit masculine the box is but i am sure you would find a way to make it look magnificent.

These are so lovely, Lala! How are you binding the pages to the cover? Or are you using ready-made notebooks, and covering them with the perfume packaging? I think they look really elegant with the beading and wirework you have added.

Wonderful ideas Layla - i had never thought of doing this. I keep most of my packaging but that is where it ends. Have a wonderful weekend, xv.

Brilliant idea. This has to be the most stylish green project I have ever seen.

The original design of these packages was labor intensive and so they deserve an "extended" life. Your additions and embellishments are just brilliant!
