The orange feast in the Lecrin valley - south of Granada

Every year in april, the Lecrin valley, in the south of Granada organizes la Feria de las naranjas. It was a nice opportunity to spend a lazy sunny saturday in Melegis, one of the most charming villages in the valley
the townhall asked fine art students in Granada university to design and build a few pieces of urban furniture so that passers by could sit down and admire the view of the neighbouring villages and the oranges groves
just like this....and isn't it amazing I found the perfect chaise longue to match my dotted dress?
we then headed to restaurant Los Naranjos for drinks and tapas...plenty of orange juice to drink too...
we were lucky to find a sunny nearly empty terrace when we arrived

the restaurant had a special cod menu. We tried this cod terrine with salad, which was more or less like a brandade.....mmmm...delicious
we came back loaded with a big bag of oranges

Wish you a vitamined monday !

edit to post : that day, as we were sipping fresh orange juice on the terrace of Los Naranjos, I told Monchéri, I could never leave Andalucia, especially this valley. Of course, going to Paris from time to time is also vital for me but this little corner of the world is indeed very special.

Nosotros ya hemos comprado una finquita aquí de almendros para hacernos una casita pequeñita! La compramos esta semana y estamos muy contentos!

So lovely to see a light filled world. Lovely photos are dreamy place. Carla
That was a special treat to see the beautiful countryside there. Thank you! I notice there are even orange trees around the the restaurant, as well as orange-patterned table clothes.

The hills in your photos remind me of some places here in California that look very similar, except for the architecture. I enlarged all of them to see the details.

Love the idea of specially designed pieces of urban furniture. Beats the old, grey benches in the park...

A lovely southern Spain! We once had an apartment in Andalucia, near Puerto Banus-- is Toni Dalli still running his piano Bar just outside of Marbella? We passed through that area 2 years ago and went up the mountain to Rhonda in a thick white mist-it was sunny when we reached the top though. I loved your pictures, how do you manage to get them to enlarge like that? I keep trying, but in vain.
