A lovely goat, a book announcement and the winner of the give away

The other day, I was talking to my friend Gym about clothes and fashion and at one point, I said something very profound like, oh fashion trends can be so tricky sometimes. Gosh, I realize how pathetic it sounds...Gym laughed and shrugged her shoulders then said, you know, now for me one of the real things that counts is listening to my animals in the morning and look after my goats, because that's real stuff and this is life too.

I paused and thought, mmm.....this is well said, after all. Gym lived a very busy and intense life as a decorator which led her to many exotic and fabulous places like Tibet or the Bolshoï or the Cannes festival. Those who follow my blog know her from earlier posts and today, I'm very proud of my friend because she's just achieved another of her many creative projects. She first started a blog, then wrote short stories about episodes of her life which are now compiled into a book very appropriately titled Zigzag, Flashbacks of a painter published by 5000books. It will be out in november. I've just preordered it and can't wait to have my hands on it.

L'autre jour, avec mon amie Gym, on parlait de mode et de fringues et je lui dis, dans un bel élan d'intelligence profonde que parfois, qu'est-ce que c'est dur de cerner les tendances. Mon Dieu, comment être si pathétique ? Gym s'est mise à rigoler en haussant les épaules et a fini par me dire, pour moi, maintenant l'une des choses qui comptent c'est d'écouter mes animaux le matin et d'élever mes chèvres. Ça oui, c'est la vraie vie. aussi. Je suis restée silencieuse un moment en pensant, mmm...ouais bien dit, après tout. Gym a eu une vie bien remplie et très intense comme décoratrice et son métier l'a menée vers des endroits exotiques et fabuleux comme le Tibet, le Bolshoï ou encore le festival de Cannes. Les lecteurs de ce blog la connaissent bien car j'ai déjà parlé d'elle dans des posts précédents. Et aujourd'hui je suis très fière d'elle parce qu'elle vient juste de finir un de ses nombreux projets créatifs. Il y a quelque temps, elle avait commencé un blog, puis elle s'est mise à écrire des récits sur sa vie qui sont maintenant compilés dans un livre idéalement intitulé Zigzag, Flashbacks of a painter et publié par 5000books. Le livre paraîtra en novembre. Je viens juste de commander un exemplaire et j'ai hâte de le recevoir.
