What I delivered in Paris.....

Do you remember, in January I did this commissioned work for someone in Paris....and the same person called me one month ago to order me a box to put her bridal dress inside. After thinking about the whole thing, I got back to my client to tell her that a box was fine but how about a poetic hanging wardrobe....with an embroidered love poem....some delicate flowers here and there....and pearls too....yet something simple and romantic which pleases the eye. My client liked the idea and gave me carte blanche. So, I made this cotton hanging wardrobe - which is very long - and embroidered a poem by Pablo Neruda which couldn't be more appropriate : Amor mio, estamos juntos, juntos desde la ropa a las raíces (my love, we're together, together...from clothes to roots). My client's heart language is Spanish, hence the poem by Pablo Neruda. I also embroidered little suns and added pearls. The delicate white organdy flowers come from Spanish communion headdresses from the 50s which I had been collecting since I live in Andalusia. A zip didn't look quite right so the hanging wardrobe opens on the side with pearl buttons.
And yes, I was quite nervous when I went to deliver my creation because in the end you never know....but, yes, my client loved it...especially the poem and the matching hanger which you can't see because I made it at the last minute !
Actually I'm so happy to have done it...now I want to make one for myself...or for yourself may be ?

Sweet Lala, you followed your creative heart and... a masterpiece, designed with your client in mind. The poetry is the perfect touch for this confection. I love it and so glad that you had to deliver it to Paris.

(Is your cousin still at Opera with the ballet?) I thought of him when I was there last month.

Bises,
Genie
