Pop Up French Pâtisserie in El Rincon in Niguëlas....I'm ready for the next one !

Did I tell you, I love baking ? Yes I think I did but this time, let's say
that my passion nearly killed me !
On saturday night, I skipped dinner and instead baked and baked until....4.30am,
got up at 7am to get my Pop Up French Pâtisserie ready for sunday
from 11am to 3pm at the beautiful El Rincon, in Niguëlas

and there I was with 72 tartlets (lemon meringue, lemon & hazelnut meringue,
orange, pink grapefruit & clementine, strawberry, dark chocolate), 30 financiers
(a French traditional biscuit) with hazelnut & walnut, almond & hazelnut, chocolate,
8 strawberry charlotte and 10 chocolate fondants with orange & almond

orange, pamplemousse rose & clémentine, fraises, chocolat noir),

Here is my precious assistant, Ingrid, a French friend
who was incredibly efficient.
When I don't sleep 8h, I seem to lose the plot easily
and can't count anymore and luckily Ingrid was there !

Here she is above, getting prepared with Tinca, our lovely hostess
in the background getting the record player ready...
how cool was that to have an old vinyl player and listening
to some great jazz on a sunday morning  ?

There were tables inside and outside, beautifully laid out by Tinca with white
embroidered tablecoths and fresh flowers from the field. For this special occasion,
she also lent us her gorgeous Limoges porcelain plates.

I really didn't know what to expect : how many people would come, how many pastries
I would sell and I was so thrilled when our first customers arrived a little bit after 11am.
They had coffee outside with pastries and bought more pastries to take away.
Here is Ingrid preparing the first order.....

Little by little, people came, Spanish, English, French, Dutch, Danish, American,
all cake lovers and as you can imagine, I was really happy.

and here we are Ingrid and I, at around 2 o'clock.....nearly sold out....

and completely sold out at 2.30pm !
et à 14h30, il ne restait plus rien !

Thank you so much to all of you who came to visit, had tea or coffee,
and bought my pastries. I was so touched that people from my village came.
A few people asked me if that was going to be a regular thing on sundays.
The only thing I can say is that Tinca was really thrilled about it
and we're definitely thinking of the next Pop Up French  Pâtisserie.

A big thank you to my friend Ingrid for her precious help,
all the more since she had a bad sore throat that day
and to Tinca and her family for letting me use
their gorgeous place !

au prochain Pop Up French  Pâtisserie.

Your pastries were beautiful. I see your French influence in them! The shop was beautiful, I love the gnarled tree limbs used on the table and holding up the shelves.

Theresa
All your cakes look delicious and beautifully prepared, I'm so glad it was a success! I hope I'll be back for the next one. Felicitations!
