a taste of happiness

sunday evening at home...an hour ago the kitchen was smelling of chocolate cake. We're lazy on sunday when it's cold outside. The teapot is full. We light little candles and like kids we fight over the last bit of chocolate cake.
and next we fight over the music playlist....It's been three times now that I've been singing to Nina Simone's Love me or leave me...

you see I can never have enough of my Nina.....She's my fave...she's my adored queen....

but Monchéri stamps his feet and here comes Big Jack Johnson with Kim Wilson

oh blues leave me alone

wish you a peaceful sunday and yeah these guys rock....

A fine post. Your blog atttracts me more and more when I visit. The images are consistently of such good quality and Iyou have real gift for letting the narrative unfold in those images and their captions. Great.

This post warms me so. We share the love of Nina Simone and that just makes my evening. These are pictures I could look at all day.

I am almost sure you won the last piece of chocolate cake. ; )

Yes! Nina - my favorite while working in the studio on a dark wet evening! I have her collection, she breaks my heart over and over.
Chocolate cake would certainly ballance emotions. ANYTIME! Lovely post, lovely life!

I love Nina Simone, especially My Baby Just Cares For Me. Love that song! She was the greatest. And what a great way to spend a Sunday!
Hey, nobody puts Nina in the corner! (said with same accent and intonation as Baby in the movie 'Dirty Dancing'):-). If you love Nina, you'll have to see the choreography that the Alvin Ailey Dance Company did to that song. Spectacular is an understatement.

Greetings from London.

You should always get the last piece of chocolate cake. Tell Moncheri we said so.

It's getting cold here, too. I must get some chocolate cake. I already have the Nina Simone.

Nina Simone's "I aint got no - I got life" is one of my all time favourites and she one of my musical heroes. She was quite wonderfully crazy while being so unapologetically her own person.

Oh and Nina, Chocolate cake and cuddles on a Sunday - heaven!

Oh Nina. She is sensual and soulful in a way I'm not humanly capable of...
