Michelle ma belle.....and love is in the air.....

Mis queridos, my lovelies, this is just a quick hello. I meant to post about the tears of joy of my family in Madagascar watching President Obama's inauguration, about this wave of hope which is now spreading through the whole world, about words pronounced and repeated by thousands and many more "if one voice can change a city, then it can change a state, then it can change a nation, and if one voice can change the nation, then it can change the world"....

But I'm a bit under pressure today because of work so just for now let's share again this moment of pure love...I'm sure you've seen this photo a hundred times by now but I couldn't help myself. They're so beautiful and seem so much in love. And like one of my aunts said : "gosh, I'd never thought I'd have such a crush on a First Lady!"....

I read a funny article yesterday in French paper Libération about Sarkozy's being completely fascinated and envious of Obama's popularity....well I guess our poor French president has much to learn from the new American president in terms of winning one's people heart....

See you on friday and thank you so much for
your encouraging comments about the Valentine cards!

ps : yes, i'll do my very best to put the cards on my etsy shop tonight

We have hopes we are leaving a dark period of our history behind us. It is such a pleasure to have an articulate, intelligent and thoughtful person in office.
Hi, castle, I would have never made that connection between that Beatles' song and Michelle. Yes, ma belle, indeed, she is.

A great day indeed. How's Sarko and his 'perineum' exercises:-)?

Greetings from London.

La verdad es que fue un día fantástico... we read on the paper today that China has censored part of Obama´s speech which had mentions of communism - they stopped the speech in mid air, and the the official translations on chinese websites have been "adjusted"... sad, really.

Thanks for the lovely photo... están guapísimos! Que tengas un buen día, Lala...
Bursting with pride, here!

As the child of Cuban parents living in Florida, I haven't always had cause to be proud of my home country. Yesterday, for the first time in eight years, I truly did. :)
Great picture! Thanks for sharing.

When I first heard her speak, and then went back to read more about her, I couldn't help thinking that perhaps she would make the next great President Obama.

I love watching them together. They seem like the first real couple in the White House. I love how he looks at her. Yeah, I guess I have the crush too!

Thanks for linking Michelle to one of my favorite songs! Now I'll hum that too when I see her photo.

Great minds think alike. I posted the exact same photo today. I was in tears when Beyonce was singing "At Last" to our First Couple.

I never really understood the whole Camelot thing with the Kennedy family. My parents generation was just taken away with them. This is bigger. This is worldwide. I love your post and reading comments from people outside the US just blow me away.

This is incredible.
Thank you for your post!

It's been so wonderful, so uplifting to feel the happiness in other parts of the world again! What a celebration of hope! I feel as though I'm waking up out of a depression that went on for two terms!!! Thanks for your sweet comments, LaLa. I promise to tell you about my trip to Spain one of these days.

Yes, I love Obama's expression as he looks at Michelle...I look up the history of Madagascar to try to get a sense of how your aunt and other's on the island might feel about the election...attaining a kind of independence under the umbrella of France in 1958, just 50 years ago. And the history of slave trade there...I am so happy that the US finally elected a leader who fairly represents the people and can connect/reach out and open dialogue with other nations in the world.

Oh yes, they are one sweet couple!

In today's New York Times there is an article about the designer of the First Lady's gown!

It's a wonderful thing to observe the Obama's obvious love, affection and respect for one another. As for Sarkozy, he is too brash and clueless; his latest actions involving the country's newspapers have done him no favours!
