Flamenco addiction...

When I lived in Paris, flamenco was drug, my passion. I took classes 3 times, 4 times a week during 3 years. I never had enough of it. And as soon as I settled down in Andalusia the place to practise and dance flamenco to one's heart content, I stopped ! Go figure.....

You know what happened ? I felt so intimidated by the gorgeous Andalusian dancers - girls and boys...But I've made up my mind to resume the classes and just...dance...

don't you think dancing should be part of our daily life like eating, talking, walking, laughing and dreaming?

Lala, this picture of you dancing is priceless!! You are so lovely, inside and out. Thank you for the smiles this dark and rainy October morning!

Yup, I do think so. What would it take for that to happen, do you think?

Oh it should, it should! I love the part in that movie (was it the Tango Lesson?) where the tiny little kids with their white aprons learn to tango at school. We should dance at school, and grow up dancing, and continue dancing until we are old! (If my husband would only dance, my life would be perfect, but he doesn't want to!)

You look absolutely wonderful! I agree with you - there are not enough opportunities in daily life to dance. That's why I love weddings...

Good for you!
I love your picture!

gorgeous pose...I agree about dancing and life but I must dance when no one is watching!
I agree with you wholeheartedly. As a qualified Afro-Cuban dance teacher I can attest to the benefits of dance, not just from a health point of view, but also to improve one's social life.

Keep dancing, Olé!

Greetings from London.

Thank you for this post! I can't live without dance - I take ballet.
I can totally see you as a light, graceful flamenco dancer.

I do believe it!!! A dance a day - at least. Love this post Lala - pictures, thoughts, everything. And I've been away for a few days so have only just seen the changes to your banner... Loving the new look! :)

Your blog is not at all très trivial! Dance is one of the primal activities from which many of the other arts sprang. Your site more than does it justice. I guess I should have checked with you first, but I have added it to my list of blogs I visit. Hope that is okay with you.

OH!! I am so glad you are dancing again. Not long ago I spent a rainy Saturday morning cruising the internet and showing Sloane videos of flamenco dancers. I'll never forget the high school trip we took to see the Ballet Folklorico. The graceful hand movements alone are enough to make a grow woman swoon.

never give up, just practice, practice, practice. You will have more joy than with watching, watching, watching ....
