Gothic love in Granada......

Mis queridos, I'm so sorry to have been away from blogland for so long. I want to thank you all for your very kind messages on last post about Madagascar. (Last news is the situation remains precarious but hopefully a peaceful solution will be found soon through dialog).

In the meantime, life goes on in Granada and I've been so busy with various things that Valentine's day nearly went unnoticed ! Saturday, I was having coffee in the sun with my friend Gym, on paseo del Salon when I saw this adorable couple passing by and I just ran after them to ask them, please let me take a photo of you because you are so cute ...

She was wearing a full length black lacy dress and it's a shame I didn't take a full portrait of her. I asked her : "te vistes asi especialmente para San Valentin?" did you dress like this especially for Valentine's day ? and she answered with a demure smile No, es que soy gotica... No, I'm gothic...I think they look perfectly adorable...

So, what did you do on Valentine's day ? Hope you had a great time with your loved one(s) !

I spent saturday morning looking for a sexy outfit with my friend Gym, for her fancy dress birthday party at the end of the month. We had lots of fun rummaging through lacy corsets and all types of garters. Then we treated ourselves to a lovely Valentine's girlfriends lunch in the nicest Morroccan restaurant in Granada, where the waiters are....hum...very cute and charming....

And back home, there was another sexy guy waiting for me with a little suprise......but I'll show you another time !

What a fun, interesting, and curious post, Lala Ema! I don't get the whole gothic 'thing' entirely...though my daughter and son are influenced by the fashions. I was glad when they both started wearing a bit of colour...I like them to be light-hearted, too...there is so much trouble in the world as you know.
It sounds as if you had a wonderful time in the sunfilled cafe!
And ...ha...why are you sending a personal invitation at the bottom of your post instead of directly? Ignore this last question...I just couldn't help being curious...and it 'killed the cat'! (-you know the expression : Curiousity killed the cat?) So glad to have you come back and that positive negotiations are going forward back home.

Lala! Great to "see" you again!!! The gothic couple really do look super cute and very nice too!

We spent Valentine's Day cooking at home and then being all cozy on the sofa watching a movie... we always celebrate it one day earlier, just for the sake of being "rebellious"... hahaha! Last year my husband asked me for marriage "formally" on 13 Feb so we had a great reason to celebrate!

Great to see you "blogging" again, Lala! Besos!

Exquisitely dressed couple! Though I am so not into Gothic, myself, they do look very exotic!

She rocks!!!!!

Valentine's day? An awful day. Everywhere we went to dinner were full booked. My conclusion is that if you want Valentine's day to be a normal day you must plan it!
But I'm exaggerating, that was the only bad thing, the rest... beautiful! As always ;-)

Bss!

LaLa dear,
Sounds as if you had a day that I would have enjoyed also - rummaging through lacy corsets and a Morrocan lunch. I usually have to spend Valentine's Day alone because it is one of the busiest days of the year at my husband's restaurant. This morning I made him a big breakfast and tonight we'll order pizza. Not so very romantic for some I suppose - but when you have a restaurant you enjoy staying home together.
Much love to you -
Catherine xx
I so think of "Goth" as an American teenage phenomenon, so it was interesting to read this post. The young lady in the photo certainly brought a lot of style to the outfit!

Valentine's Day is always celebrated at home; restaurants are just too crowded and silly on that day.

Dinner at home with my beloved (shared the cooking) and a DVD...quiet, sane, lovely...

Liked her parasol.

Spent the evening with dear friends listening to their son's band enjoying varied appetizers, drinks and dancing.

Lala- your Valentine Day was so much nicer than mine- My Hopelessly unromantic husband went to the quickie mart and got a dollar box of wee mints for me...It is NOT, definately NOT, the thought that counts...

I agree with Cynthia, an interesting and unusual post. I also agree that it was a shame you did not take a full-length portrait of her!

I love dressing up - but I'm a bit too shy to live out my fantasy-dress-ups outside the house! I think she looks marvellous, though.

Lala,

It's me Tim!
Two things; One, your page is not loading correctly. The page is much too wide for my 19 inch screen, I have to scroll sideways. It will drive a lot of people away especially those with laptops.

Two, please can I have a link to my Etsy shop. Please please please!!!

How fun and a great portrait. I guess living here in SF, this look wouldn't make me glance twice because it is pretty tame compared to some of the outfits I see around here, but you make a wonderful portrait of the two of them. Hope your Valentine's day was full of love.
