A pretty pinny by Lala Ema

I am very happy to show you at long last my mini-capsule collection of aprons.

VOILIER

MARQUISE

CAMPAGNE - blue

SHIPS PASSING
(couldn't resist this gorgeous fabric by Cabbages and Roses)

HAPPY DUCK

CAMPAGNE - reddish brown

now, let me show you the details a bit
et maintenant je vous montre les détails

after spending hours, if not days searching for the perfect button,
I decided matching fabric covered buttons were the best for my pretty pinny

I also wanted the inside to look as nice as the outside.
So, the neck line is hand stitched with an invisible hem.

and here is my little label....
et voici ma petite étiquette...

I must tell you what inspired me to design these aprons.
It's not only my love for baking, but you see here,
in my Andalusian village, the first thing I see in the morning
when I go out of the house is women wearing an apron
while they're sweeping their doorway.
And then I thought, wouldn't it be nice to feel chic and pretty
even wearing an apron ?
I also must thank my blogging friend Mélanie who inspired me
by telling me that her customers in Provence wear their apron to go out in the street...
...and it's exactly what I did yesterday.
I went to visit my friend Rocio, wearing my Marquise apron
and then met two women who placed an order !
And the good news is that they are all now in my etsy shop,
ready to dispatch, so ladies, grab your pretty pinny !

Yes, your aprons are beautiful. I love the fabrics that you have chosen and that you went out in yours. And aprons are still very much a part of Spanish life.

These are so lovely, Lala. Your choice of fabrics gives them such a sweet, pastoral ambience. I think of Greuze. I've just caught up with many posts and you've had the most exciting and most delicious summer of anyone I know. Many more happy days to you this season (and always, of course).

Dear Lala, My apron has arrived. It is beautiful. So well made, so much attention to detail, and expertly sewn. I absolutely love it. Thank you for sewing it for me. And it arrived so quickly and all the way from Espania.
Warm regards, Gina
