A new crush.....

Since a few days I fell in love with a tiny village, 2 hours from home,
in the Alpujarras mountains. I keep going back whenever I can escape.
This is the biggest crush I've ever had for a place. For me, it's exactly what
I've been looking for since I live here in Andalusia.
Quiet, all white, flowers everywhere and what's more important, hydrangeas,
my favorite flowers, lovely people, lots of artisans. Honestly, this sounds
like heaven to me!

We are in Mecina Fondales, a miniature white village with
narrow streets.

My companion and I stayed at L'Atelier, a lovely 2 room hotel, run by
a French couple Brigitte and Michel. They were so adorable with us and
made us feel like family, we didn't want to leave! Brigitte is also the chef of
L'Atelier restaurant and makes a delicious vegetarian cuisine with an Asian touch.

This is our room, pretty and quite spacious.

I so loved my little office in the morning, on the landing stairs in front
of our room.

My companion chose to stay a few more days, lucky him..
and changed room. Next time, I want to wake up gazing at the wild
vine through this blue window.

La prochaine fois, j'aimerais bien me réveiller
Breakfast was different every morning, gaufres, coconut custard, orange
mousse...all made by Brigitte as well as her delicious homemade bread and jams.

In the morning, we had our breakfast inside and then lunch on the tiny terrace.

In the evening, we had dinner at the other restaurant in the village,
La Cueva de la Luna Mora, a very charming piano bar run by a colorful Argentinian.
It dawned on me I didn't mind at all this routine and the lack of variety. In fact,
the atmosphere was so friendly, we kept meeting new people all the time.

Je me suis
One day, I traveled there with my new cushions to photograph them and
we made friend with this young boy who was chatting on his mobile,
while we were looking for a great shooting spot in one of the numerous tiny streets

I thought those amazing stairs would be the perfect canvas to take pictures
of my new creations. The young boy was laughing because this is actually
part of his house. In the old times, storage rooms were build with tiny doors
and impossibly high steps.

My new bag bread hanging pretty on the old wooden door

Another impossible stairs. Imagine coming home completely tipsy...oops..

And it's another pretty canvas for a portrait in my flowery dress

This feeling of authenticity...that's what I love in this village

Me dreaming in my white linen and lace dress embroidered with tiny pearls.
On the day of my departure, a woman gave me those two chairs which she
didn't want anymore. Since then, I'm contemplating finding a little nest
in this heaven village.

A cool, cool haven, beneath the Spanish heat. A beautiful post.
