Farewell Miriam.....and you will now sing in paradise

I cannot count the number of times I danced on her song "pata pata".....The Empress of African song has left us quietly last night, after having performed on stage...

She was such a great woman and artist-activist, fighting against racism and apartheid in her country....Listening to her song Khawuleza is like drinking a glass of bitter-sweet wine.

Farewell Miriam...rest in peace.....you'll keep shining among the stars....

Thanks for your comments on my blog, my castle.

May Miriam rest in peace, she filled our hearts with mirth and joy and that's how I will always remember her.

To upload a video from youtube, just embed the code you have on the right hand side of the clip on youtube. Make sure you embed the code in the section of your post where it reads 'edit html' otherwise it won't come out. If you want to upload more than one video (like a playlist), create an account on youtube (if you haven't got one already) and create a playlist (with name included). After you have saved all the videos you want to upload in your playlist, embed the code and upload in your post (edit html) and presto... you're on!

Let me know how you get on.

Greetings from London.

i am remembering a line i like very much from a song by another songstress as she sings 'it's so hard to hold on when heaven calls...' in my imagination i can see the joy of the angels as Miriam has a new captive audience...

Touching tribute. You know, I don't think I ever had the pleasure to hear her voice!

I wish I had discovered her sooner. But her powerful music lives on!

I wrote about her too. She was an amazing talent and a kind-hearted womanwho went out of her way to help those less fortunate. I think it's fitting that her last performance was for another's benefit. I got to meet her once in San Francisco and guess what - we talked politics! :) xo
She was wonderful, wasn't she?
