Of little hearts and sweets.....

This morning, I'm stuffing my head with little syrupy sentences like Amour toujours.....Je t'aime moi non plus....

I'm trying to get into the Valentine's cards making mood and it's just not happening !

I hate you...I hate you so much I think I'll die from it.....(I always loved that line in Gilda)

All week end I tried to get the inspiration but I just couldn't ....I thought listening to Cecilia Bartoli's Italian songbook or watching my beloved Catherine Deneuve in Indochine would give me a kick of exhilaration but it only made me melancholic and now I feel like designing Valentine's cards for lonely hearts, broken hearts, hearts on the mend....

so here is a start with vaporous flowery ribbons

lots and lots of sweets

yes...the world is definitely in need of sweets

that's it for today....I will show you more by the end of the week.....

and....wishing you a sweet start of the week !

Hola Lala! Oh, I love those cards and sweet delicious things!

You know that parts of the film Indochine were filmed in the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion in Penang (Malaysia)? The mansion, once owned by a very rich Chinese trade man, has been turned into a delicious little hotel. Check www.cheongfatttzemansion.com Worth staying... take your Moncheri and enjoy!

Hi Lala,

Les cartes sont très jolies. Les couleurs très vivants.

How could I purchase a card for mt wife? How could it fly over the Atlantic?

I make jewelry and was doing the same thing yesterday..searching for inspiration. Not an easy thing. I love when I am at the breaking point and, voila, something I never thought would work, becomes magnificent. It's always those vaporous, hidden thoughts that work best for me. Good luck. Can't wait to see the results.

I love making hand-made cards too. You chose some beautiful materials, especially the dainty colors you chose.
OK, first things first.

Catherine Deneuve. Indochina. Catherine Deneuve. Indochina. Catherine Deneuve. Indochina.

Now, that IS a movie. I watched it four or five times in the mid 90s in Havana at the UNEAC (don't ask :-D) and I was mesmerised by Deneuve's candour and persona.

OK, now to your cards, I love the way they are taking shape. Well done and good luck.

Greetings from London.
I know what you mean about the Italian love songs. When I listen to Cecelia Bartoli I think of Vivaldi: Sposa Son Disprezzata and then my heart breaks...she wants her husband's love returned to her...listening to her is the sweetest pain.
Your V-day hearts are light and joy...no pain there.

LaLa,

I love looking at you blog there is always something inspirational. The materials and colors you have chosen so far are awesome.

I haven't made many cards, but thank you for giving the idea to do that for Valentine. I have all the materials at hand, because I am a scrapbooker.

Your cards are absolutely devine- sweet- anyone on the receiving end would surely be smitten! Valentines day , I am afraid, brings out the devil in me..Things like "Here's my heart"..."do you want fries with that?"
Beautiful creations! So light, airy, romantic and just so very pretty!

I forgot to say that "Indochine" is one of my favorite movies of all time. Catherine Deneuve was so gorgeous in that movie.

Hi Lala,

Thanks so much for your comment. I like your blog and I follow it for some time now. I love Spain. I visited once in 2000. My best friend from school and university from Egypt lives in Murcia.

It will be my honor if you follow my blog.

As for the card I thought that it would be nice to give my wife a card from one of the beautiful places in the world and hand made by an elegant artist.

C'est presque minuit en Espagne, alors bonne nuit et à la prochaine.

Personally, I think cards for lonely hearts and hearts on the mend is a fabulous idea. I think maybe you should do some. Valentines Day can be so lonely for some people. Maybe a bit of humor would do a friend some good.

Beautiful! I've never really celebrated Valentines Day - I've never really had anyone to celebrate it but I do love my friends and family, so maybe I can share with them!

BTW - I love that quote: "I hate you so much I could die". Love it.

I like your blog! Please check mine out, it's a funny look at the life of a teacher who is also a first time, stressed out mom to a growing boy. A unique look into friends, family, and parenting.
