Granada, the city where you cannot rush.....

I find it quite impossible to rush in Granada...there is always a street artist catching my attention and these tree guitar players were just too good. I wonder why I never use the video function of my camera. Next time, I will....They were playing Entre dos Aguas de Paco de Lucia and it was really fantastic....



but here is a video of the maestro himself in 1976. Enjoy ! (besides the hairdo, I think he looked terribly sexy....)

What fun photos! I'm sure they were good. There's a fellow who plays a steel guitar and a banjo here, and I always feel so happy when I find him playing.

Nice post! The guitar is one of my favorite instruments (other two are cello and french horn) and I enjoyed the video very much.

There's no end to talented musicians and dancers in Spain. It's as if the whole country has a musical pulse they can't turn off. I've seen Paco several times in concert. The best!

Yes LaLa, you know I would LOVE to come to the party! Wish I could join in the preparations.

How lovely! I wish we had more of that here in the US, but I think here they call it loitering:( Do these artists have to have permits to perform in the streets? I hate rules :)

I loooove Paco de Lucia. Many years ago I saw him perform in San Francisco with Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin. It turns out they recorded the evening for a CD which I was able to purchase not too long ago. Here's a segment of the evening on YouTube(same song):

I agree that Paco de Lucia is very handsome and sexy, but that hair has GOT to go!

I will never forget two guitarr players that I saw in Granada. They were fantastic! They played the same sort of music as in the video.

How lovely to live in a city where you cannot rush in comparison to London where you cannot live without rushing...

I went to school in Granada a few years ago and my favorite thing to do was walk around and watch the street performers! It was wonderful at Christmas time to buy a bag of roasted chestnuts and sit and watch all of them entertaining people. Thanks for the memories!

Thanks Lala for the nice words. My wife loves the cards. She keeps examining them and reading the words I wrote her every morning. She likes the artistic touch and the hand writing of the words.

I guess that in Granada and many Spanish cities you cannot rush..you have to enjoy the art and the life in there.

Oh...this is superb,It's been a long time since the Salsa Cafe in Jakarta shut down.
Somehow suddenly reminded me of them (The Band from Spain, they used to play for us the Jakartans, and the lead guitarist used to sit in the same style while the rest are standing.(except from the drummer of course).Nothing special but just a Dejavue If may say.Thank you

I really like your pictures, it seems exactly as I imagine Granada should look like. Once I want to visit Spain and that is the reason. I can feel peaceful, friendly atmosphere and the local architecture is amazing, too.
I wish you many good shots!

Moreover, I have couple of questions. Can you speak Spanish? Or what language do you use there? Why have you gone to Andalucía? Can you dance flamenco? Are you planning to settle down in Granada?
