The artisans market in Monachil

I was very happy to take part to an artisans market in Monachil yesterday.
Monachil is a very pretty village near Granada at the foot of the Sierra Nevada.
Paloma, a young French/Spanish woman started this market which takes
place every second saturday of the month to promote the artisans around Granada,
in the beautiful setting of the parque de los Aragones.

This market is just starting so it's still a bit slow but I spent a lovely day, meeting gifted people
and selling cupcakes which I made especially for this market
with a few of my paper things.
Did you know that cupcakes in Granada are a total novelty ?
And me well, I'm getting addicted to it !

and here is my little stand
et voici mon petit stand

I took the pic below at home, the day before going to the market
of the olive bread which was then packed in brown kraft paper
and orange and almond cupcakes which I kept in the icebox once at the market
because it was quite warm.

and I also made canestrelli....a true Italian delight with lemon zest...
Do you know it ?
I've just discovered the recipe and wanted to try it. Love it!

J'adore !

and here I am.... the happy baker...
(sorry for the pole of the parasol in the middle,
but the cupcakes needed protection against the sun!)

Wishing you a sweet week end !

Dear Lala, you must have done well. Everything was so beautifully presented. Markets are a lot of fun. Every once in a while I join our local market and always meet such generous people.

Your stand looks so inviting. I wish I could have attended. Your cupcakes look so delicious...not at all like the cloyingly sweet cupcakes they have here in the states...and that, as Martha says, is a good thing! Yum.

That looks like the type of market I love to find when traveling, and I would *definitely* have to have some of that olive cake! Beautiful post - thanks for sharing a bit of your beautiful surroundings!
