My Fantômas candy bar at the French Cinematheque in Paris

At last I can show you some pics of the candy bar I set up for the Fantômas
night at the French Cinematheque last saturday in Paris.

It all went so fast !

We arrived safely with the 1000 lemon biscuits. A mere 200 got crushed
during the transport. Never mind...it could have been worse !

Paris was great as ever....I think I suddenly had a pang of nostalgy because
I even enjoyed the big demonstration in the street on friday and also
getting stuck for 2 hours in a traffic jam on the D day.

The event started at midnight and ended at 6.30am.
Yes, you read right !

I must say my cousin made an outstanding performance.
Of course I'm quite partial because I adore him but honestly, he's been amazing
as he improvised on the organ.
He played during the 5 episodes of the French serial Fantômas,
so this is also an incredible physical performance.
The audience loved it and was totally absorbed.
So the event was a huge success.

And so was the candy bar ! During the two breaks, tea and coffe were offered
to the public with cakes and candies. I tried to recreate a Belle Epoque decor
and even used my cousin's old music partitions as basis for the cake trays.

Monchéri all dressed up as Fantômas (thanks to my friend Gym who lent us
the superb top hat and tail coat) was doing the DJ during the breaks.

I brought all  the fabrics, trays, jewel boxes, feathers from Spain...
even the ivy comes from my friend Pascale's garden in Andalusia !
We bought some black tulle at Marché St Pierre and also brought this old clock
from my cousin's flat along with a Napoléon III chair.

You know what surprises me ?

In the end, we all managed to stay up all night...after packing up,
we unloaded the mini van which was hired for the occasion at my cousin's place,
then parked the van next to the rental car place....And I was the one driving...
First time in my life I drive a mini van in Paris...great experience, especially at 7 am !

Even if as you can imagine it was a LOT of work it was also a lot of fun
so I'm ready to repeat the experience !

I would like to say a big thank you to Anne and Matthieu from the
French Cinematheque and Agnès from Gaumont ho helped us
doing the setup.
