Traditional Spanish sunday breakfast

This is what Monchéri brings nearly every sunday morning : CHURROS......the typical Spanish doughnut in shape of a long golden ribbon.

At the beginning, I think my frenchitude prevented me from liking this greasy Sunday companion which tends to weigh on your stomach and now I have to admit, one sunday without churros is not a real sunday.

Still I have them with a cup of earl grey tea while Monchéri who is Spanish eats his churros with café con leche like Spanish people do.

Olé !

Sounds delicious to me!
I love your word frenchitude!

Those do look good!

The Mexican version of churros that we see here are about one inch thick, ridged, and about 18 inches long, dusted with cinnamon and sugar.
Oh, (thank you for asking) I forgot to say, my novel is nowhere near finished...perhaps I will take it up again during next November's NaNoWriMo and try to finish it. It is a fantasy story...I haven't figured out where to go with the plot at this point! It's on the shelf at the moment.

loving your life in espana
the people here, in new mexico, mostly came from andalucia - some things have melted into a mestizo pot, but others remain the same.
