Romantic collars

I made these collars a few years ago to present them at the Workshop tradeshow in Paris. I think I showed them on the blog earlier. At the time, I wanted to play with the idea of the ruffs or "fraises" which were in vogue in the XVIth century.

today I'm starting a new series of collars without fur, more evening-like with lace and velvet...As it is a grey rainy day here, I feel quite happy and lucky to work at home.

So happy to see I am not the only one to like fur collars! Last time I went home, my grandfather gave me two that used to belong to my grandmother and love just looking at them and imagining the outfits she would have wore them with. This one is lovely!

Lala, i have never thought about collars, what a wonderful idea! these you have made are lushily beautiful. i just want to touch them.

though i've not thought of collars, i have thought of the neck ties that mr.darcy and mr. bingley wear in pride and prejudice. they as so fashionably beautiful and warm. yours too are luxurious!

do enjoy today, rainy and grey here in nyc too. got the heat on warming my cosy nest:)

sending warm hugs...

Oh, oh, oh! I love these. I have an old oil painting of a Polish nobleman and he is wearing a fur collar similar to this with a single pearl latching the neck.

Living in South Florida, I would like to see something lacy and I will return to see what you create next.

They are so cute!

Greetings from London.
These are stunningly beautiful - wow! What talent... soo chic and classy; it's such a shame people mostly dress down nowadays instead of dressing up..!

Now, I know Christmas is a long way off;
but, I just couldn't wait...

I'm in the midst of gift-wrapping an extremely early Christmas present for all my delightful favourite bloggers -
it'll be ready this evening - so, if you'd like to pop by my blog anytime after that, you may pick it up and enjoy..:)
