Hunting for fabrics at the Buenos Aires shop in Granada

I think I've been a fabric freak nearly all my life. When I lived in Paris, I used to haunt the Marché St Pierre, a big tentacular market specialized in fabrics. In Madrid, I discovered the barrio Pontejos with its charming old haberdasheries and fabric shops....When I designed handbags, I headed to Elda near Alicante, the main textile area in Spain, to buy specific fabrics and leathers....and now in Granada, I love going to the new Buenos Aires fabric shop.
It's neither too small, neither too big. There's a good selection of linens and cottons. I went twice this week....the first time for necessity, the second time, just for enjoyment. I need to see all the stock they have. It's a long time, I haven't made a dress for myself and I don't have the time right now but I like to feel the soft silky fabrics, I like to imagine if this print would look nice on me...so many fabulous prints this summer....
But I must admit, I also like to visit this shop because of the main seller on the first floor whose name is Antonio...the man in the above pic in the red striped shirt...
Apart from knowing everything about the fabrics he sells and the exact number of meters you need, the man has a wonderful sense of humour...he sings, he makes jokes and most important, he lets you know all the good bargains...
So if you live in the area, if like me, you're a fabric freak...don't hesitate say it all to el señor Antonio !

I have always loved gorgeous fabric shops too. I used to make some of my own clothes several years ago but haven't had the time recently. Maybe I should find time - it's so rewarding. I'm sure I would love this shop!

Oooh, I would have fun in the shop. Sadly many of our own fabric shops have closed.

Lucky you! Fabric/buttons/ all of that sort of "possibility" stuff gets me every time...I have fabric bought in the 70's that I still have not used!
