Paris : chic bistrot Les Jalles

In Paris, I got spoiled by my darling cousin who took me to a new bistrot chic near the Opera Garnier, Les Jalles, which his friend Patrick decorated.

Les Jalles is the new baby of Magali Marian and Delphine Alcover, who already had a great success with their first brasserie chic, Le Volnay. You can have a meal at the restaurant downstairs or have a cocktail upstairs in the cosy 30's ambiance bar. Don't hesitate to ask for a customized drink ! Here they know how to please you....

After admiring the reproductions of Tamara de Lempicka, the wallpaper and the furniture which the owners found mainly in brocantes, I was all eyes for the waiter's uniform....so sleek indeed....

Of course, the scene wouldn't have been complete without a piano....and of course....
my cousin who was in the mood to play asked if please...could he play a bit of jazz....

downstairs, the restaurant was busy busy...but it didn't matter if we had to wait for our table....we felt good and happy while my cousin played some jazz....and the ginger cocktails helped too....

here I am with my cousin's friends, les garçons : Georges on my left and Patrick on my right

It was past 10 when we seated at our table at the restaurant downstairs.....If you like traditional French cuisine from the south west, then you're in for a treat...and I'm not even mentioning the desserts.....I'm still dreaming about the chocolate tart and I was a bit reserved about the chocolate cannelé but...oh yummy....

note to myself : gosh....I forgot how good French food can be !

ps : and I can't believe I haven't been blogging for so long....
tst...tst...it's the heat which suddenly hit us and left me de-energized !

What can I say except I've missed you.

I've just returned from visiting elderly relatives and I'm still a bit tired but trying to catch up on reading blogs.

Your trip to Paris sounds nice and your cousin sounds like a dear to you. I understand about the heat. We're finally getting some here. While I was away some of my poor pansies expired from too much sun and not enough water.
